The 25th Annual Seafood Festival is Fast Approaching!

The Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival is one of the most talked about festivals in Newport every year. So it’s no surprise it draws a crowd of locals and tourists numbering in the thous ands! For this years 25th Annual event, over 20 chefs and food vendors will be creating their favorite seafood dishesnwhile thous ands of people sample and me ander the waterfront, undernfestival tents. As Dan Knerr from The Black Pearl states, “this event is all about the camaraderie of chefs”. And that is very obvious when you see the sights and smells beneath the tents on Bowen’s Wharf. Running October 17th and 18th, this event will feature lobster rolls, stuffies, clams on the half shell, chowder, and more from places like Matunuck Oyster Bar, Speakeasy Bar & Grille, and our own wharf restaurants such as Diego’s and 22 Bowens!

In addition to the chefs, we are all celebrating the local fisheries, and the men and women who work in this industry. Conservation groups will be on site educating us about a healthy balance for water quality and the ecosystem. Face-painting, interactive water and art activities, touch tanks offer lots of activities for the young and young at heart. This is event will also happen alongside the Oliver Hazard Perry, Rhode Isl and’s br and new 200-foot official sailing education vessel.nAs you savor fresh dishes, sit back and enjoy the beats from area b ands. Under the music tent, live folk, Celtic, and blues music are just a taste of what you’ll hear. Bring your dancing shoes, and a good appetite, because Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival is never an event to be missed!
