The 24th Annual Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival Returns to the Newport Waterfront

Spectacular Two-Day Celebration to Honor “Harvest of the Sea”

With the arrival of fall on Bowen’s Wharf, it’s time for one of Newport’s favorite traditions!  The 24th Annual Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival will take place on October 18th and 19th  from 11am – 5pm, rain or shine. Named one of the “10 Fabulous Fall Festivals on the Coast,” by Coastal Living, this event is an open invitation to come back to the Anchor of Newport on the waterfront after the rush of the summer season! This family-friendly festival features continuous live entertainment, activities for the kids, and world-famous cuisine from top Rhode Isl and restaurants all beneath the Wharf’s colorful tents.

It is a time to celebrate our neighboring restaurants, seafood businesses, talented musicians, and the remarkable City by the Sea,” said Bart Dunbar, President of Bowen’s Wharf Company. “At Bowen’s Wharf, we are proud to host this tradition of outst anding seafood and free entertainment for our community, families, and visitors.”

Honoring the “Harvest of the Sea,” the festival offers fresh, mouthwatering seafood specialties hauled from Rhode Isl and waters. Participating restaurants such as Diego’s, The Wharf Pub, 22 Bowen’s Wine Bar & Grille, and Matunuck Oyster Bar as well as the RI Shellfishermen’s Association will serve up their most celebrated seafood dishes (lobsters, clam chowder, stuffed quahogs, clam cakes, fish tacos, shrimp, scallops, raw oysters and clams, as well as options for children and l andlubbers). Cold craft beer, spirits, and soft drinks are available in addition to ciders. Café-style seating is set up throughout the Wharf.

As you savor fresh dishes, sit back and enjoy the beats from area b ands. Under the music tent, foot-stompin’ live folk, classic rock, and blues are just a taste of what you’ll hear. Bring your dancing shoes, because these b ands promise to get your feet moving!
