Bowen’s Wharf 27th Annual Seafood Festival: Saturday, October 14th 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. & Sunday, October 15th, 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

FREE ADMISSION to 25+ vendors including, local restaurants and fishermen, celebrate the harvest of the sea on historic Bowen’s Wharf, in downtown Newport. Enjoy a cornucopia of seafood, desserts, and kid-friendly fare. Groove all day long to live music featuring folk, surf rock, Caribbean steel pan, reggae, blues, and classic rock. The festival offers ship visits onboard Oliver Hazard Perry, the 200-foot Tall Ship & Rhode Isl and’s official sailing school vessel.

Illuminated Boat Parade & Block Party Friday, November 24th 4pm – 8pm

Newport harbor is illuminated with the Boat Parade and Bowen’s wharf delivers Caribbean Christmas and Holiday tunes. Panoramic View, featuring the steel pan, will be live at the North Pole. Make a restaurant reservation early to watch the parade of lights from Bowen’s Wharf while boats compete for best decorated. All our locally-owned shops and restaurants will be open — many with special offers to make shopping for your loved ones, and yourself, a joy. FREE ADMISSION.

Bowen’s Wharf Christmas Tree Lighting and Holidays by the Sea Saturday, December 2nd

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – twinkling lights, fragrant wintergreens, beautiful bows, and a most amazing Christmas tree on historic Bowen’s Wharf. (Travel & Leisure Voted Bowen’s Wharf BEST CHRISTMAS LIGHTS in Rhode Isl and). Come early for holiday shopping (recorded Christmas music begins in the afternoon), and stay through the evening as festivities begin with Frosty the Snowman at 4:30. Local musicians take the stage at 5:00 to lead the carol sing-a-long. A City Official lights the tree at 6:00 – the official beginning of Christmas at Bowen’s Wharf! Santa and Mrs. Claus motor into Bowen’s Basin by boat (weather permitting) eager to listen to every child’s wish. Bowen’s Wharf restaurants remain open for holiday meals.
