The end of winter brings excitement for the spring months to come. Spring on Bowen’s Wharf means it’s time for one of the most exciting events of the year…. Oyster Festival! We can picture it now: you, enjoying Champagne & Oysters, on the waterfront, all weekend long. Join us May 17-19!
Here’s a taste of what you can expect at the 4th Annual Newport Oyster Festival presented by Bowen’s Wharf and Moët & Ch andon:
- Opening Night Party with all the oysters you can enjoy two days of live music and dancing
- waterfront bars and cocktail sampling
- Growers from all over Rhode Isl and shucking their freshest oysters
- Select group of local restaurants with curated festival favorites
- Sweets vendors (yum)
- Sunday’s popular Shucking contest supported by The Nature Conservancy of RI
Big changes are on the horizon! We welcome Jason and Co. to the Bowen’s Wharf family at 57 America’s Cup Avenue!
In February we said farewell to Custom Canvas Newport: Don & Loretta Roy have been local artists of canvas totes, flags, pillows as well as retailers of beloved American lines like Dooney & Burke, Spartina and others. We are excited to hear about the next chapter of their lives which will include travels and some much-deserved time out of the store. They have volunteered their time to organize many Wharf initiatives, such as the Adopt-A-Family programs with Child & Family Services. Kristen Coates – a true creative that we have loved having on the wharf over the years will be pursuing her painting, gallery & creative workshop endeavors off-wharf. We wish Kristen continued success and look forward to seeing her artwork around Newport and beyond.
Jason Carbonneau founded Jason & Co. twelve years ago in the heart of downtown Newport. He loves to add sparkle to his client’s lives and whether you’re looking for a classic, refined piece of jewelry or a one–of–a–kind showstopper, his store truly has something for everyone. Featuring over 50 fabulous designers from all around the world, you could spend all day in his gorgeous store (renovations underway this month, stay tuned for the big reveal). Jason believes in making a personal connection with his customers and provides the finest quality customer service. We know Jason, and his co-owner/ Cavalier King Charles spaniel, Gunner, will fit right in with our wharf merchants.
