Springing into Summer at Bowen’s Wharf

A Shucking Good Time! 

Bowen’s Wharf was bustling for the 2019 Oyster Festival! Thank you to all who came out to enjoy the weekend with us — our sponsors, local growers, volunteers, sponsors, musicians, attendees, and special guests! Together we raised over $7,500 for The Nature Conservancy of RI, Ocean State Aquaculture Association and Oliver Hazard Perry. This festival broke the record for the three previous years of shell collection by Nature Conservancy volunteers!

Bachelorette at Bowen’s 

In the summer months at Newport, we’re sure you’ve seen plenty of groups of women with matching t-shirts or sashes quoting things like “Bride Squad,” “I Do Crew.” But this year we welcomed The Bachelorette, Hannah Brown, and the casting crew as they filmed in Newport for their 15th season on ABC! Keep an eye out for local spots like Bowen’s Wharf, White Horse Tavern, Gurney’s, and more.  

On June 10, Jane Pickens Theatre (JPT) will be hosting a free viewing on their big screen at 8pm — RSVP required!
