Ben Shaw’s Brash Band
Ben Shaw is a Rhode Island based composer and multi-instrumentalist who, as a singer/songwriter, digs into the uniqueness of American music and seeks to blend all its facets together for a rich experience where the sounds of old folk ballads and raging second line rhythms can be heard alongside lush harmonies and contemporary styles, all with the craft of a honed musician.
Drawing inspiration from an array of genres and artists, Mel has a hard time classifying herself into just one genre. Many of her listeners have described her sound as folk with a dash of soul, touch of twang and a hint of jazz. Audience members often approach Mel after performances to thank her for her “healing voice & poetic lyrical work.
A jazz guitar Trio with a broad repertoire of original arrangements and compositions. We are foremost an improvisational jazz group (Ellington, Mingus, Monk, Miles, and the Great American songbook) but our arrangements are also culled from the world of rock and pop music as well, including the Beatles, Stevie Wonder and Steely Dan.
Amaro & Co
A blend of American, Latin and World music. Latin Jazz, Bossa Nova, Soft Flamenco, Jazz Standards, Rock & Pop with a Latin twist.
