Giving Thanks Giving Gifts and Getting Great Food
Laughing & eating all the way: That’s the way we welcome the holiday season to New England …yep, with eating! Newport Restaurant Week (November 2-11, 2018) celebrates Newport’s cuisine scene and this year local seafood plays a starring role.
Locals and visitors love to join together in Newport over Thanksgiving weekend. On Friday November 23rd Bowen’s Wharf merchants offer an opportunity to walk off some of the celebratory meals and shop locally. Our holiday lights start to sparkle and the Bowen’s Wharf Block Party coincides with the City of Newport’s Illuminated Boat Parade.
Nothing beats Island Music to get you into the swing of the season. Aaron Cote (steel pan percussionist) unites his three piece band, Panoramic View, to warm up visitors with Christmas tunes and a Caribbean twist,
Good karma kicks off the spirit of giving. Each of our businesses will be supporting a local non-profit in Newport County. When you shop with our merchants on Black Friday they will in turn share some of their proceeds or be part of food/toy collections for those in need in our community. So, thank you, for planning to join us that day, in giving back and giving thanks.
Did you know that Save the Bay Tours take in 360º views of seals resting on Citing Rock off of Rose Island and the Newport Bridge? One-hour seal tours are entirely boat-based, while two-hour tours include a tour of Rose Island Lighthouse. For tickets & information on museums, land, sea & sky tours visit our Pilot House on America’s Cup ave by the main flagpole or call 401-849-3478.
