Although we got a taste of winter with the snowfall last week, there’s still time to enjoy all that autumn has to offer at Bowen’s Wharf! A crisp fall day is a perfect time to stroll along the historic waterfront and get a head start on your holiday shopping at our unique shops and boutiques, galleries, and restaurants.

Earlier this month, we celebrated the beginning of a new season with our Annual Columbus Day Weekend Sidewalk Sale! It turned out to be a beautiful weekend to enjoy some special end-of-summer deals from our retail merchants! This year, it’s more important than ever to support local businesses and shop small, and this tradition is a great reminder to do so. Currently, 22Bowen’s, Fluke Newport, and The Wharf Southern Kitchen are excited to invite you to a week of incredible pre-fixe meals and special offers. 22Bowen’s is offering a full three-course dinner prepared by Executive Chef, Walter Slater. Your first course has a choice of 22B Clam Chowder, Winter Vegetable Salad, or Crispy Pork Belly. Followed by a second course with your option of a Petite Filet Surf & Turf, Club Cut Steak Frites, Half Rack of Lamb, or Bay of Fundy Salmon. and last but not least, either Black Forest Cake or Coconut Tres Leches for dessert!

Walk on down to Fluke Newport for their ‘The Supper Club’ including a variety of choices from Red Kuri Squash Soup, Marinated Manchego Cheese, Fresh Local Fluke, Crispy Pork Schnitzel, Chocolate Custard, Brioche Bread Pudding, and much much more!

If you’re looking for a little comfort this weekend, head to The Wharf Southern Kitchen for their Lobster & Fried Chicken Dinner for Two! A delicious mix of southern foods, from BBQ Mac & Cheese to organic country fried chicken and a full 1.5lb Steamed Lobster, crispy creole taters, braised collards plus a bottle of Prosecco!

This October we also hosted the Autumn Leaves Music Series, featuring outdoor musical performances of all varieties throughout the month. The weather cooperated most of the time and we were happy to bring people together to enjoy some live music in a safe and socially-distanced environment down at the wharf!

Whether we like it or not, winter is coming! As the season comes to a close, don’t forget that our marina offers winter boat storage! What could be better than having your boat in the Anchor of Newport so you can explore all there is to see even in the off-season?
